KiwiClass is a non-profit incorporated society that was established in Wellington in 1995. Our mission is to provide education and support for adult refugees and migrants in the Wellington region whose first language is not English.
KiwiClass members are the backbone of the organisation. Our voluntary Board is elected by the members at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and it is the Board that sets KiwiClass’ strategic direction and monitors its performance.
Membership of KiwiClass is open to all persons and organisations who wish to support and promote the objectives of KiwiClass, and who agree to abide by our Constitution.
We keep society members in touch with KiwiClass activities and invite them to attend our AGM, usually at the end of May, to participate in choosing our Board members.
Society member applicants are approved by the Board and advised of their success or otherwise following the meeting at which their application is considered. A Board member may contact the applicant to find out more about their interest in KiwiClass before a final decision is made.
